PM Coaching and Mentoring Thanks for all the many and varied comments received following the articles on PM Leadership Development in the last newsletter. We would summarise the feedback as: Agreement with the need to accelerate PM leadership capability to deliver complex projects In current economic times can we have a more cost effective approach? Brenda Hales and Mo Stone accepted the latter challenge and have developed an Emerging PM Leaders Structured Coaching Programme. This programme: Utilises coaching as a proven, way of unlocking each managers unique leadership potential and relationship skills Takes place over six months: the right time to enable them to integrate their learning and accelerate their performance Each sessions pre-formatted structure ensures that the known essential elements of PM leadership success are introduced through mentoring. Coaching/mentoring has long been recognised as one of the most effective ways of accelerating performance. However within the PM community there is, as yet, little experience of what the coaching/mentoring approach can deliver. We have designed this short survey to collect some initial input to discover where we are as a community on leveraging the potential benefits of coaching/mentoring. He is a Fellow of the Association for Project Management and President of ProgM, the Association for Project Management /British Computer Society Specific Interest Group in Programme Management.  He has worked with a wide range of major organisation to improve their ability to deliver programmes and projects successfully including Lloyds of London, Barclays Bank, British Aerospace, Panasonic and many others both in UK and elsewhere.
